COURSES and BOATS for HIRE

The Club works closely with "Better", a GLL Company which manages our lake on behalf of Welwyn Garden City council. "Better" runs RYA approved courses and has Sailing Dinghies for hire on Stanborough Lake.

 Membership & Cost

 Yearly Subscriptions to WGCSC    Adults /  Family*  £15.00

 *Spouse/Partner/Children (under 18) automatically qualify for Family Membership of WGCSC

Racing Cost: Saturday racing fee to WGCSC is £1. There is no fee for mid-week sessions.

 Boat Storage at Stanborough Park: £xxx.00 per year. (Arranged through Better)

Insurance: All members are required to insure their boats against third party claims of at least £2,000,000. Non members are required to show their insurance certificate to the Watersport office at the lake before sailing.

Parking:  Please note that there is a parking charge at the lakes, discount for local residents and WGCSC Members attending club activities. Members Cars MUST be registered with Better to benefit from this rate.  Contact The Better office for further details.(Subject to change).

  Courses & Boat Hire

An option to get on a boat is also to come to the sailing club on Saturday morning and have a chat around. WGCSC double-hander sailors are often on the lookout for a crew, giving you a chance to partner up and gain some experience before "going solo"

 Courses and Boat hire are also provided by Better.

WGCSC shares the lake with Finesse's RYA recognised sailing centre which can help you develop your sailing skills.

Other activities may be taking place on the lake during our racing and mid-week sessions.
