Winter racing

Extra race to the programme – pursuit 18th Feb Extra race to be added to the series between the end of the winter season and the start of the spring series. Probably along the lines of a team pursuit made up of 2 starting with the lead club sailor being paired with the opposite, and working through the ranks so every one is fairly matched up, to be determined on the day according to who ever wishes to participate and at the discretion of the race officer

New committee members

David Brown has been co-opted on to the committee and will stand for election at the next AGM.

But now is the time to consider how you can get involved and put your self forward Secretary , Commodore , Vice commodores sought..

Single fleet sailor

Single fleet sailor – this was discussed following Peter Edel being the only sailor from the fast fleet competing recently in a handicap

before Christmas. It was agreed that where a single sailor from the fleet sails, that the fleet will be treated as a whole and they will be

recorded in their finishing position. There result will then be extracted from the results and move the others up to arrive at their finishing position

This only applies to the handicap races and would be treated as a ranked position – it was also interesting to note that in this particular

circumstance the problem had been compounded by people swapping duties!!! So if you do swap please try initially to swap from the same fleet.

There has been no feedback on this  - and even at the last committee meeting we had further discussion , Race officer will make the final conclusions and circulate – any one wish to express their thoughts !!
